Ski TOURING

Skjolden is recognized for being among Europe´s best locations for Ski Mountaineering. Because of the high number of tall peaks, endless glaciers and humid ocean, the amount of snow and quality of the powder is world class. It´s also quite unique to stand on top of a peak and look down into the fjords!

Deer Hunting

The inner part of the Sognefjord are among the greatest areas for deer hunting in Scandinavia. We will be offering everything from a full service hunting trip with Heli transport etc. to simple hunting licenses in the area.

mountain Biking

With an endless amount of trails going from the fjord and up on the surrounding mountains, this is a mekka for downhill mountain biking. The trails are available throughout November, and can start well above 1000 meter ASL, before they twist and turn down into tunnels of vegetation.

Skydiving & Heli Sightseeing

Imagine jumping out of a helicopter in a location like this! Our helicopters will take off from the docks of Skjolden, and offer both individual and tandem jumps. We will also offer family friendly Heli sightseeing trips in spectacular envirements.

Powder Skiing

Northern Europes best powder skiing area, accessible by lifts! Get pulled up to the very top of the mountain with a breathtaking 360 degree view. Both the depth and quality of the snow makes it a powder skiing heaven. A humble powder skiing heaven, renowned for outside the Norwegian boarders.

Fjord RIB-adventure

Experience the magnificent Lustrafjord, the inner part of Sognefjord, with its steep mountains and waterfalls at close range. The adventure takes you on an unforgettable expedition in a secure and rigid inflatable boat (RIB) into the Norwegian fjord landscape.

XC-Summer skiing

Northern Europes highest mountain pass is located along Rv. 55 Sognefjellet. This makes XC-skiing easily available from May to July. Practically all top national teams come here during this period to extend their XC-season. Great slopes of around 6-7 kilometers are available for both classic and freestyle technique.

Exploring Glaciers

Walking on the blue ice of Nigardsbreen (most accessable part of Josterdalsbreen, Europes largest Glacier), is possible from May to October. Experience the excitement of wandering by blue ice, listen to it melting, and see with your own eyes how the glacier has shaped the majestic landscapes around it.

Hiking & Cultural Activities

Skjolden can offer majestic hikes and trails, both in and above the fjord. From family friendly trails to climbing Northern Europes largest peaks and glaciers. There is also cultral activities available, like the UNESCO Urnes Stave Church, The Wittgenstein Cabin and industry museums.
